Fundraising efforts throughout the year are conducted with one goal in mind – awarding grants to nonprofit organizations that provide direct and emergency services to people facing breast cancer. These services provide comfort to breast cancer patients through all phases of their breast cancer journey. Based on needs assessments developed by breast cancer advocacy groups, we evaluate the most urgent needs within the nine Bay Area counties that we serve. 

Applicants are required to provide financials and specific impact of grant funds for our use in determining whether they qualify for a grant award. Our Grants Committee, consisting of community leaders, members of the medical community, past and present Foundation board members, many having personally experienced breast cancer, carefully screens and reviews all applications.

Continuous reporting and mid-year site visits by Foundation board members ensure that the funds are being used appropriately. With our careful selection process and meticulous follow up, you can be certain that your contributions are going where you intended – to help women and men dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, throughout the communities we serve.
