Joan Capurro is well known across Marin.
The time the San Anselmo resident has given to nonprofits and other groups across the county has linked her with the Salvation Army, the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, the Marin History Museum and other organizations.
Later this month, the 75-year-old will add Kentfield’s To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation to the list as she models in the nonprofit’s Stepping Out fashion show. The nonprofit, which provides support to those diagnosed with breast cancer, has its 21st annual gala and fashion show on Sept. 24.
Capurro, who was diagnosed with breast cancer early this year, says she is proud to strut the catwalk in Eileen Fisher, Macy’s and other brands for a good cause.
