Cynthia Bergstrom
Executive Director
Cynthia Bergstrom is a strategic and creative leader with over two decades of leadership experience driving organizational growth, brand development, and operational excellence across nonprofit, entertainment, lifestyle, wellness, and consumer sectors.
Throughout her career, Cynthia has held senior leadership roles spanning marketing, communications, creative direction, and executive management. Most recently, she served as Executive Managing Director of the Stapleton School of the Performing Arts in Marin County, where she oversaw all strategic, financial, and
operational functions of the nonprofit performing arts school. Her consultancy, Devata Design, has delivered full-spectrum brand strategy and marketing solutions to a diverse portfolio of clients from Bay Area theatre
companies to Swedish consumer brands and NFL affiliates.
Cynthia’s background is as varied as it is accomplished. She has led marketing and communications for Esalen Institute, directed the successful U.S. launch of Good Idea Drinks, and spent over a decade as a Design and Creative Director and Costume Designer for major Hollywood studios including 20th Century Fox, HBO, ABC, NBC, and Warner Bros. This rare blend of creative and business acumen allows her to see both the big picture and the finest details and execute on both.
A collaborative leader at heart, Cynthia has managed teams of up to 15, directed multimillion-dollar budgets, and built partnerships that connect organizations meaningfully to their communities and audiences. She holds a Master of Arts in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
Cynthia joins To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation with both professional dedication and deeply personal purpose. Cancer has touched her life since she was young, when she lost her grandmother to leukemia. In the years that followed, she would watch her mother, and several beloved friends navigate their own cancer journeys, experiences that have shaped her with a profound understanding of the courage, vulnerability, and community that define life in the face of this disease. It is this personal connection, combined with her passion for mission-driven leadership, that draws her to TCL and fuels her commitment to stewarding the organization into its next chapter of philanthropy.
Cynthia is honored to bring her heart, her experience, and her energy to an organization whose
work is so close to her own. When she’s not leading teams or building brands, Cynthia can be found cooking with friends, hiking the trails of Marin County, or capturing the world through her camera lens.
