North Bay recipients include: Ceres Community Project (healing meals for breast cancer patients), Sebastopol/ San Rafael /Alameda; Institute for Health & Healing (holistic support for breast cancer patients), Greenbrae; Marin Center for Independent Living (Mary Mathews breast cancer advocacy project), San Rafael; Marin General Hospital Foundation (strength ABC program and diagnostic fund for un/under-insured patients), Greenbrae; Sunflower Wellness (beyond breast cancer), San Francisco/Marin; Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation (cancer support services), Santa Rosa.

TO CELEBRATE LIFE BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION AWARDS 2016 GRANTS TO 16 BAY AREA NONPROFITS

Foundation grants over $4.55 million since inception to Bay Area breast cancer nonprofits

To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation, a volunteer-based nonprofit organization whose goal is to ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone, is thrilled to announce the recipients of their 2016 grant awards that were distributed among 16 Bay Area nonprofit organizations totaling $300,000.

 

These awards bring the total granted since the organization’s inception in 1996 to over $4.55 million. The recipients were chosen from a pool of applicants by the Foundation’s Grants Review Committee, which is made up of community health and medical leaders, breast cancer survivors, Foundation supporters and past and present Foundation directors. The grants were given to nonprofits which help women and men with breast health issues by providing emergency, direct and patient navigation services, financial support for the underserved, holistic complementary therapies, diagnostics and emotional support programs. For more information call 415-455-5882 or visit www.tocelebratelife.org

Hero: “No one should face breast cancer alone” is a guiding principle of To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit based in Kentfield. This volunteer-based organization recently awarded $300,000 in grants to 16 Bay Area agencies, five in Marin, that provide services to underserved populations with breast health issues. The group began in 1996, when several Marin breast cancer survivors held a small fundraiser, which evolved into a large annual gala. Over the past 20 years, the foundation has granted more than $4.5 million dollars and assisted 20,000 individuals. “We are making a difference in the day-to-day care of those living with the challenges of breast cancer,” said Jane Pallas, board president. TO CELEBRATE LIFE BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION PRESENTS THEIR 19TH ANNUAL STEPPING OUT GALA AND FASHION SHOW:

A HOT NIGHT IN OLD HAVANA

 

San Rafael, CA – (August, 2014) To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation presents an electrifying evening of Cuban sights and sounds with their 19th annual gala and fashion show STEPPING OUTA HOT NIGHT IN OLD HAVANA on Saturday, September 27th at the Marin Center Exhibit Hall, 10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael. The Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser will feature 32 women, all breast cancer survivors, as they walk the runway to help raise funds to support To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation’s grants program. These programs distribute money to Bay Area nonprofit organizations providing direct services to people dealing with breast health issues. This evening of fine dining, fashion, dancing and outstanding live and silent auctions is one of Marin County’s most anticipated galas of the year. The celebration begins at 5:30 pm with cocktails at the Coco Loco Cocktail Lounge, along with a silent auction. Guests will have an opportunity to bid on exciting items such as tickets to see the Broadway hit Kinky Boots, a one night stay at the Hotel Healdsburg (including a four course dinner for two at the award-winning Dry Creek Kitchen restaurant), dinner for two at Boulevard in San Francisco, and Day on the Bay – a boat tour on the bay for up to 6 people on the See Coach Charter out of Sausalito. A gourmet sit-down dinner by McCalls catering will follow along with a sizzling dance performance by Anna Gottreich’s Island Dance Project eaturing a performance collective, celebrating Afro Latin cultures through dance and music. Guests will also have an opportunity to participate in a spirited Live Auction with Fund A Need.

 

The highlight of the evening is an amazing fashion show with breast cancer survivor models, escorted down the runway by prominent local physicians. Models will wear fashions from Par Excellence, UKO, Macy’s Northgate, Alice Becker, Eileen Fisher, West Coast Leather, and Helen Lyall. After dinner, the party continues with casino games at the Ay Caramba Casino by Vegas Magic and dancing to The Richard Olsen Orchestra.
