Chris Brettingen
Chris Brettingen is a longtime survivor of breast cancer, first diagnosed in 1991. While in treatment recently, she gratefully benefited from several services which To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation supports. She has always appreciated that this organization focuses on helping survivors find serenity and a new quality of life.
Chris had a wonderful experience modeling in the Stepping Out fashion show in 2003, and since then has worked every year on the event — starting out on the Model Committee. She joined the Board in January 2008, grateful to serve on the Grants Review Committee and interact with the inspiring organizations who help carry out the Foundation’s mission. She became head of the Grants Review Committee in 2009, and assumed the role of president of Board of Directors in mid-2009.
Chris is a Minnesota native. She moved to San Francisco from her Minneapolis hometown in 1986 to open and lead a branch office for one of the top U.S. market research firms. She has a 33-year-old son, Kristopher, who lives in Southern California. One of her favorite places to travel is San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, which she visits on creative retreats with beginning and experienced painters. In addition, Chris is an Argentine tango student and an avid reader, cherishing her friendships from a 19-year long book club.
