“The spirit of our founders and their vision for this Foundation is once again mirrored in our three newest Board members – Shari, Kristen and Linda,” said Jeanne Capurro, To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation Board President. “We are delighted and fortunate to welcome them to active leadership roles for To Celebrate Life.”
Shari Dagg comes to the Foundation with extensive business and life experience. After spending more than 20 years in corporate America and achieving two advanced degrees in business, Shari retired to Yellowstone National Park, where she became the acting COO for the Yellowstone Park Foundation. She also spent several years working on a grizzly bear study, a wolf study, and a bird study in the park. Shari became certified as a First Responder and helped with search and rescue in the park’s backcountry.
After arriving in California in 2010, she completed projects for organizations ranging from tutoring young students to supporting federal agencies overseas.
Kristen Bennett has been involved with the Foundation as a model mom, event co- chair, and escort lead. She comes to the Foundation with over 30 years of executive administrative experience, and brings with her organizational skills and insight.
Kristen lives in Mill Valley where she enjoys gardening, cooking, golf and spending time with family and friends.
Linda Dowsett first volunteered for the Foundation’s annual gala and fashion show, Stepping Out to Celebrate Life in 1999, in support of a co-worker and friend diagnosed with breast cancer. For many years, she volunteered to park cars, work the silent auction, feed volunteers and be a model dresser. It was a very powerful and positive experience, including watching more friends model, and survive cancer.
She is celebrating her 10 year anniversary at Blue Shield of California in October, as Director of Data Management Services in Information Technology. Linda lives in Marin with her husband Drew, their two dogs and two cats.
